Let’s Keep Druridge Beautiful – A Reminder to Visitors and Locals Alike

This morning, as I walked along the stunning stretch of Druridge Bay, I was once again reminded why so many of us are proud to call this place home. The rising sun over the water, the sound of the waves, and the peacefulness of our coast are simply second to none.

But sadly, that peaceful moment was clouded by something far less beautiful — litter left behind from overnight campers, and the inconsiderate behaviour of some road users in the area.

I know how lucky we are to live somewhere that attracts people from far and wide. Visitors are always welcome, but with that welcome comes a simple request: please respect our community and our coast.

We live here all year round. This isn’t just a holiday spot — it’s our home. All we ask is that you take your rubbish with you, use designated bins, and follow local parking and road rules.

And for those who’d like to enjoy an overnight stay by the sea, please remember that wild camping is not permitted along the beach. But just a 2-minute walk from the shore, you’ll find a lovely, designated camping area at the Druridge Bay Country Park. It’s safe, well-maintained, and designed for exactly this purpose — giving you a great experience while protecting our fragile natural environment.

🟢 Let’s work together to protect what makes Druridge Bay special.Leave only footprints. Take only memories.

Thank you to all who continue to care for our beautiful corner of Northumberland.
