A New Chapter for JCSC – Building a Brighter Future

I’m really proud to continue being part of the steering group for the new James Calvert Spence College (JCSC) school build. This is a project that’s been over a decade in the making faced with challenges, delays, and setbacks but it’s finally taking shape, and the progress on site is now clear for all to see! 🏫
But this isn’t just about bricks and mortar. It’s about creating a learning environment fit for the future modern, inspiring facilities that will support students, staff, and families for generations to come. I’m particularly pleased that the new site has been designed with the wider community in mind, including better access and much-needed parking that will ease pressure on Acklington Road.
As part of the board, I’ll continue doing everything I can to help ensure a smooth transition as we move towards completion and opening. This is a major investment in our town and in the future of education in our area.
Of course, I wish this had happened sooner that’s the reality of politics sometimes but now is the time to focus on the real, positive change that’s finally happening. There’s no value in dwelling on what should have happened by now. What matters is what’s being built today and the huge opportunity it represents.
This is an exciting moment for our young people, our educators, and our whole community. Let’s make the most of it. 🌟

Lovely to see there is somehow a board for this build who knew? Certainly not the people in Amble. Scott you will of course know that the school that is being built right now, has not passed planning. It is a school plan that has not been consulted on and one that most people know nothing about. It is an NCC designed and built school with little or no input from the community. We all want a new school in Amble but this design is not a super school, it is a much diminished school and it is just a little sad that asking for more and wanting better is a bridge too far for whatever board you are on.…
