Kickstart awards night 9yrs on from the start

Since 2008 I supported a local Club called Kick Start which is a small sports club that helps children develop and learn through sport.

I remember firstly being approached by a very keen man who wanted to develop this in to something and give back to a community he grew up in. His name was John.

I supported him initially as a Parish Councillor and then on as a County Councillor following my election in 2013. Offering financial support for equipment and advice where I could.

Since 2008 John Robertson has dedicated all his time volunteering with the children, teaching them skills, raising money and making that club what it is today.

Clubs like this don't survive for any length of time without the dedication and commitment of individuals. John has a wonderful group of parents and volunteers who also support him, on behalf of the community I thank them all.

It was a real pleasure to attend the awards evening and give out nearly 30 trophies to children who'd all acheived. Well done everyone.
